A small guide to a few of the most iconic soccer kits out there

Take a peek at the free content further down as we talk about just a few of the most celebrated soccer clubs and the legendary strips that they play the game in.

One of the most supported football clubs in England, a very pleasant detail for the Chelsea FC owner unquestioningly, plays in royal blue. The all-blue strip grew to become enormously well-known in the last 10 years or so, when Chelsea reached such prosperous heights that it had not seen before. Founded in 1905, the club has frequently played in blue. That said, in its initial years it played in a much lighter blue and the all-blue strip was only launched in the 1960s. The club is undergoing a bit of a transition stage at the moment after years of prominence, but industry experts believe that there is no doubt the club will manage to be back on top again and its fans will delight in witnessing footballers in the iconic royal blue lifting trophies again.

When it comes to famous soccer kits, the most legendary of all belongs to perhaps one of the finest teams to ever play football. The all-white Real Madrid kit is honestly iconic. Ever since its establishment in 1902, the Spanish team has always played in the iconic all-white kit – except for 1 year where its home kit included black shorts (that effort was scrapped just one year later). Seeing as the squad is perhaps the best club in the world, it should be no big surprise that their strip is so different to all the rest of them – a fact that the Real Madrid president definitely likes. The club’s away colours are traditionally purple or blue but undoubtedly, its followers and general football fanatics across the world will constantly relate the club with the regal white strip. After all, many of the world’s most brilliant footballers have put on the legendary kit.

Soccer kits come in all different forms and some are more recognisable than others. Just take AC Milan for example. The red and black stripes are synonymous with the spectacular Italian club. In actuality, many different clubs all over Europe (and the world) play football in the red and black stripes, but no one will think of any of them before the Italian team. A point that the new AC Milan owner is likely very happy with. Though not the force it once was, the club continues to be one of the top 10 football clubs in the world, and the red and black colours have been utilised by the club since it was first established in 1899. They were reportedly chosen to signify the players' insatiable passion (with the red) and the opponents' fear to challenge the team (with the black). There is no doubt soccer followers will ever mistake the red and black stripes for being any other club.
